Gogango State School is a coeducational school located sixty-five kilometres west of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway.
The community consists of approximately seventy people living within a thirty kilometre radius of the school. Most local occuptions involve grazing or farming. Gogango State School has a ‘family-like’ atmosphere and parent involvement is an integral part of the children’s learning.
All parents are active members of the P and C Association which holds various fundraisers throughout the year. Gogango is a one teacher school with fourteen students enrolled from Prep - Year 7. Due to our high achievement in the recent NAPLAN tests (2008 and 2009) we have been classified as a ‘High Performing school.’
All students achieved above the National Standard in all test domains. We have three teacher-aides who help support the learning program and indiviual student's needs. We aim to provide extra-curricular activities to further enhance the children's development in areas such as: Golf, Rugby League, Sewing, Tennis, Scrapbooking, Gardening, Dancing and Music.
At Gogango State School our aim is to provide ‘family values’ within a family environment. |
