At Gogango State School, our mission is to provide a learning environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their potential intellectually, academically, socially, morally and physically. We strive to support all our students to achieve their goals and develop as independent and knowledgeable individuals of society. Our school has a 'family-like' atmosphere with parent involvement as an integral part of the children's learning. 

School Profile

Gogango State School offers schooling from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has served the Gogango community since 1878. Gogango is located 65kms West of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway and the community consists of about 186 people living within the township and on cattle stations and newly established macadamia orchards.

Gogango School has a teaching principal and this role is supported by permanent​ part-time teachers several days per week and a primary and kindergarten teacher aide. Our school has a high teacher to student ratio allowing for individual student support and tutoring time with ensures that every student reaches their full potential. All staff are committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum responsive to the needs of all students within a warm and supportive environment.

Our units of education are based on the National Curriculum and include English, Mathematics, Science, History and studies of Society, Technology, The Arts, Health and Physical Education and Languages Other Than English. Additional support is available for students with disabilities and upon request, specialist services like Speech therapy. Throughout the school year, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities including school excursions, cluster days, sporting events, cultural activities, swimming lessons, and end of year celebrations. All extra-curricular activities and events are planned with parent approval and at minimal cost to families.

The school's facilities are in excellent condition, completely wheelchair accessible ​and include an administration building, classroom, library, tuckshop, amenities and disability block, outdoor play kitchen, kindergarten home corner, playground, sandpits, undercover softfall area, sports shed, tennis court and a school oval.
