School Vision
At Gogango State School our mission is to provide a learning environment where each student has the opportunity to reach their potential: intellectually, academically, socially, morally and physically. We strive to support all students to attain their goals and develop as independent, knowledgeable people, who are responsible and motivated in society.
School Profile
Gogango State School is located 65kms West of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway. The school has served the Gogango Community since 1878.
The community consists of approximately seventy people living within a 30km radius of the school. Most local occupations involve grazing or farming. Gogango School has a 'family-like' atmosphere and parent involvement is an integral part of the children's learning. Gogango has a teaching principal and this role is supported by permanent part-time teachers several days per week and a primary and kindergarten teacher aide. Our school staff is committed to delivering a high quality curriculum responsive to the needs of all learners within a warm supportive environment. Specialist teachers deliver music and PE and SDE (School of Distance Education) delivers LOTE (Language Other Than English) with the assistance of a teacher aide. The Key Learning Areas (KLA’S) are implemented through explicit instruction and focused learning episodes. Student enrolments generally sit between 6 and 10 students from Kindy to Year 6. We aim to provide extra-curricular activities to further enhance the children's development in areas such as: Rugby League, Tennis & Cricket. Our facilities include one classroom building, an administration building and a resource centre.
